The Device class in
ReportBuilder provides an open, extensible architecture for
translating report page objects into a more useable format. ReportBuilder
includes the following built-in devices: ScreenDevice, PrinterDevice,
TextFileDevice, ReportTextFileDevice, and ArchiveDevice. The first three are
used for previewing, printing and exporting data to text files. The
ArchiveDevice streams page objects to an archive file (.raf). An ArchiveReader
component is used to read the page objects and pass them to the devices listed
above. This enables you to preview or print a report without rerunning it.
