RB 6 Standard Installation problem

edited July 2001 in General
I installed RB 6 Standard in Delphi 6 pro. Now every time I start
Delphi, I get two error requesters that say: "Can't load package
\dclRBU66.bpl. One of the library files needed to run this application
cannot be found...".

I also have D5 Pro and ReportBuilder 5.x installed in another directory.

The problem is related to installing RB in a directory other than the
default directory. To workaround this, go into the Component | Install
Packages and remove the entry for the ReportBuilder Sample components. Then
select Add and go find the installed ..\RBuilder\ Lib directory where the
    dclRBU66.bpl should be located.

That procedure did solve my problem. However, I installed RB in the
    default directory the first time.

We're currently researching a problem where the palette disappears on
installation of RB. This certainly could be related to these problems with
D6 and the registry. We'll continue researching this.

We've fixed the problem when installing into a different directory than the
    default directory.

Some good information to be aware of is that if packages won't install at
Delphi startup, even if they were installed the last time you ran Delphi:

"Run the registry editor and open key
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Borland\Delphi\6.0\Disabled packages All packages
in this key are not loaded on startup. When Delphi has a problem loading a
package, it asks "do you want to attempt to load it next time?". If you
    answer "no", it's added here."
