Custom Designer Tab

edited August 2002 in Component Writing
Hi,

There are any example of creating a custom Tabsheet on Report Designer
at Runtime?

My main intention, is to setup a query using a custom visual and store
it in the template!

No, you shouldn't create a new tab, although it is possible. We don't have
any demos on doing this, since you'll have to modify the source. Just to be
sure, are you aware that RB Professional already has a visual query designer
workspace which allows you to save the dataviews to the template file? See
our website for more information on RB Professional's capabilities. If you
have Pro, and want to create your own query, you can also use Custom
Dataview Templates. There is an example in the RBuilder\Demos\EndUser
    directory.

    Thanks Jim,

    But i?m already doing this!
The target application is a Customer Relationship Managment software and
the end-user don?t have the capability of building queries on my database!

This module will be used only for mailing and the Pipelines are fixed!
But, the Filter (that is the MasterPipeline to others) is variable!

    The hierarchy of datasets is:

    \FILTER
    \CONTACTS
    \INDUSTRY
    \PERSON

    Everything is working ok!
But all i need is that the filter Query be saved and stored with the
template in the database for later use!

You can use cusotm dataview templates and DADE without showing your users
the Data tab. Simply remove daIDE from your uses clause and your users won;t
see DADE, but they will be able to use the data pipelines that are created
in DADE. Using DADE allows you to store the data definitions inside of the
    template.
