Internet Explorer 11?

edited November 2013 in End User
We have a program with a web interface, we use the report server.

One of our customers has just upgraded his browser to Internet
Explorer 11 and the search criteria windows is not displayed anymore
for any reports.

It works fine wil older versions of IE and Chrome.

Have you heard of that problem already?

Thanks

    Chantal,

We have not tested with IE 11, I will download IE 11, research it and post a
    follow up here.

For future reference, Server related questions should be posted to the
    Server newsgroup. :)

At this point I was not so sure it was a Server problem or Internet
Explorer problem so I posted it here!!

Looking forward to the follow up.

There is now a patch available for RB 15.01 that resolves this issue.
Registered RB 15 customers can email support@ and request the patch.

The issue is that IE 11 returns a different UserAgent value (you can Google
about this) which causes the RB browser detection script to think it is an
old browser and display an old style user interface. The web preview still
works, but is displaying a more primitive style of interface.

Considering we still use RB 12.05 for all our products where reports
are created, would they still work if we only upgrade the Report
    Server to version 15.01 ?

It's a lot of work (and test work) for us to upgrade all our products
to the next version of the report builder.

So if we could still make the reports with 12.05 and execute them from
the webclient with server 15.01 it would be a solution for us right
now, until we find the time to upgrade everything.

Yes I think that will work. You can rebuild the report server and web tier
apps with RB 15.x and still create/modify the reports with RB 12.x. The best
solution is to move everything forward to RB 15.x, so perhaps you can pursue
    this as phase II.

    Thankx,

We'll try it this way then, if everything works we'll set the full
upgrade to 15.x on the planning!
