Newsgroup
Guidelines
1. Identify yourself.
When you subscribe to these newsgroups use your full name and a valid e-mail
address. Valid e-mail addresses allow Digital Metaphors staff to reply to both
the newsgroup and to your e-mail, ensuring that you receive proper notification
of replies.
2. Post your question to the single most appropriate newsgroup.
Do not cross post your message to many groups. If you can't determine which
group is the best, say that in your post, and ask someone to suggest which group
would be better. Posting to the proper newsgroup will usually speed up the
response time to your message.
3. Stay focused on the current topic.
This will help to make the newsgroups as organized as possible. If the topic
does need to change, then start another thread. Personal discussions should be
handled via e-mail.
4. Do not post messages with attachments.
Large files fill up our servers more quickly, and are an annoyance for people
who download and read the newsgroups off-line. If you need help with a program,
briefly describe your problem and include a small code snippet that illustrates
the problem.
5. Do not post bug reports
If you think you have isolated a bug in the product, then send an e-mail to
support@digital-metaphors.com. The Digital Metaphors staff can help you with any
issues you might have.
6. Be respectful to other users.
Do not make personal attacks upon other users. If you disagree with someone's
post, speak to their points and ideas, not to their character.
7. Do not post anything that is libelous, abusive or hateful, an invasion of
anyone's privacy, harmful to other users, or harmful to the business interests
of Digital Metaphors Corporation.
8. Do not make requests for assistance from other users via e-mail.
Do not contact users via e-mail unless specifically requested to do so. The
preferred method is via the forum. This makes it possible for other people to
benefit from the answer to your question as well.
In the same vein, do not request that responses be sent to you via e-mail. The
information generated in these newsgroups is intended to benefit all parties. If
you are asking an on-topic question, the answer to your question will most
likely be of interest to others in the newsgroup.
9. Do not advocate or engage in unlawful activities.
Do not use the Digital Metaphors newsgroups for unlawful purposes. Do not post
anything that encourages conduct that would constitute a criminal offense, give
rise to civil liability, or otherwise violate any local, state, national or
international law or regulation.
10. Do not post copyrighted material without permission of the author.
