  • Stop messing around
the only good thing to do is to rewrite the reports
it may sound like a real time saver at the beginning but ask yourself how
much time you already put into this...

  • Man, I?m trying, but it?s not working yet. I?m trying to get some help from
    the guys here...

  • I recomend you to send a mail to James and ask him about the limitations
    of the converter.
AFAIK is very useful for not too complex reports, so it can save a lot
of time if you have a lot of simple reports to migrate.

Nevermind -- I was thrown off by the fact that Title prints before
Header. Also, Summary appears after Footer in the design window, but
    apparently it prints before Footer.

  • Thanks, but I want to make the design of an invoice:
    - with a head of:
client (the direction of shipment of this), number of invoice and date

Yes. Search this newsgroup for 'invoice' in the subject.

  • Turns out that it is not all that hard work to loop thru the source region's
objects and create similar components in the destination region.

  • Hi Nicolas,

I had the same problem and I created some basic layouts with just the header
and the footer which should stay the same in every report. Then, when I
wanted to create a report, I just opened one of them and saved it a…
  • I have experienced a similar problem with a HP Laserjet 4 and 5D. For me it
is the right margin that's narrower than entered in page setup. If I want to
have 10 millimeters on both sides, I have to enter 8 on the left and 12 on

  • Jim - this is a follow up to your solution. I've integrated your code
into my report and everything is almost perfect However, I've
run into a number of issues that I was wondering if you have any
    thoughts on.

    First - …

  • Hi

I want to access at the report designer wizard mode in order to construct
basic RB templates with a previous SQL query designed in code using your
    query wizard.

In 2007 somebody from digital metaphors sent me the…

  • Thanks for this ...

    But how?

Have saved my amended version of daDBBDE.pas as LPdaDBBDE.pas and then
changed all references of daDBBDE in the Uses clause of all my units to
    LPdaDBBDE .

    It SEEMS to work..
  • Have just found that I can overcome the problem by amending daDBBDE's
GetTableNames procedure to NOT retrieve filename extensions ...

How do I now go about overriding daDBBDE's GetTableNames procedure in code?

    Unless you h…
  • Point taken ...

But then I'd have to cover both loading from database as well as from file,
make my changes then save them and re-load into the report object prior to
moving on with the action the user has chosen (e.g. design, p…
  • Feedback ....

Have tried that (didn't realise that the ppReport component I created in my
form was automatically used by the Report Explorer component ...).

As there appears to be no way of directly adressing the template…
  • Nearly there!!

Have written a function to do pretty much as you suggested - it does a
simple text search and replace and seems to do the trick...

The only thing I am now stuck on is how to get it to run when a user loads a…

I'd like this as well. We support DBISAM, Oracle and SQLServer with our
app.server and are facing the exact same problem!

    Cheers,
  • Oh ... will have a look at sample you mentioned ...

For better or worse, we are not accessing MS SQL with ADO but with BDE
instead (although will probably change to dbExpress when available) e.g.

  • OK, thanks.

  • I've found the problem now. I had to disable the footer in my subreport
because it contains another page counter. If the subreport fits on less than
one page it is assigned the main footer automatically, so you have a
    continuous page …
  • It's already set to two-pass (in the report menu).

Perhaps it has something to do with my pipelines.
In the main report I have set the pipeline to and the crosstab
pipeline to the pipeline that should be used for it. That's to …
  • Hi Dave,

I have had a similar problem some time ago. Open the crosstab configuration
screen, delete the old parameter from the crosstab and drag it back onto the
tab (which should by then be the new parameter). That should work.…
