Good point - its actually a designer component, when I go to the
preview screen the [Close/Cancel] button is disabled and just
shows [Cancel] (greyed out).
I need it to show [Close] as it would if I didn't use the

Hi!
I have founf "Report Wizards" and this is what I mean but now I wonder how
to use different templates (with my logo's and company data in header
etc...)
THX!

Hi Eric,
I had no problem in changing the version number with RWS (Resource Workshop).
I patched rbIDE77.bpl, and I was able to use ReportBuilder inside Delphi's IDE with it (simple test).

Nice components. I will download and evaluate them in the next few weeks or
so. Right now I am getting use to RB and the project's immediate focus for
the next couple of weeks will not be reporting.
Thanks for the lead.

Ok thanks,..
As I mentioned it would be nice to have an "Expression" type component that
holds it's formula internally in a TStringlist or TCollection that gets
streamed to the .rtm file so that it is more portable and encapsula… -

Ok, I will look into that..
What I meant for the "grid" was a type of control that is like a shape
(square or rectangular) that allows you to size it and set it's "RowNo"
property to dictate how many horizontal lines are drawn … -

Actually after doing this I would like to change it to print the offset rows
all the way down the page to the footer at the height of the detail band
regardless of the row number of the dataset.
Is this possible?
Thank you everyone,
I ended up using the BeforeGenerate() event to apply the MOD function
against the RecNo property the underyling dataset to get the effect I
needed.

There are a number of ways to accomplish this. I use a simple method using a
boolean flag and a Shape object which is sent to the background. The detail

Take a look at 'PriorValueSame' property (public, not published).

Ok so generally you should select any TppReport component, double click it,
then inside the designer choose "New" to clear out the existing report
template and then complile. Right?

I initially designed it so that the one report component jockeys every
report by programmatically changing the template name as dataset as needed.
I guess then that would be a good strategy.

Thanks for the response. The solution looked pretty ugly anyway with
multiple header lines so I've abandoned that.
Don't worry about it.

Hmm ..
New day, new dawn! It does not do it today.

Doug,
ReportBuilder comes with the 'TppDesigner' component, which has a method 'ShowModal'.
Associate a designer with a report component and instead of calling myReport.Print call myDesigner.ShowModal.

For bitmaps, WMF & JPEG you will get 1 file per page of the report. TIFF supports multi-page so you
will only get 1 file for the entire report.
