AutoSearch Dates and dd/mmm/yy format

edited May 2003 in DADE
Hi,

When using AutoSearch with Dates on a machine that has regional settings of
dd/mmm/yy format, nothing that the end user seems to filter correctly. Has
anyone found a work around for this problem? Making the user change their
regional settings isn't a good option at this point. We are using 6.03
ReportBuilder.

Thanks,

What happens when the user enters in the search format based on their
regional settings for date format? You can change your machine's regional
date format settings and test this with our report explorer demo with
autosearch. Can you reproduce the problem with our demos?

    Jim,

Yes, I can duplicate the problem in the demo also. However, I found that the
main problem in our customers case has to do with the date separator type.
They use - instead of / . If you use - along with dd/mmm/yy with the
demos, you'll get an error when you try and enter a valid date. So, at this
point I guess we just have to tell the customer they have to use / date
    separators.

    Thanks,
