blank pages printing before section subreport

edited June 2011 in Subreports

I have a report setup to print invoices. There are groups setup on order
number and another on route. The invoice is printed using the order group
header, footer and the reports detail band. There is a summary for the route
that is a section subreport on the group footer for the route group. Everything
prints fine except we always get a blank page before the section subreport
on the group footer. How can I stop this??

    Hi Greg,

Section subreports are meant to be placed in the detail band of an empty
report to combine multiple reports together as one. When you place a
section subreport inside another band, it will first print that band,
then start the section subreport on a new page (as designed). If you
would like to remove the extra page, I suggest using a Child style
subreport and perhaps a TppPageBreak component.

    Hello Nico,

Changing to a Child subreport works except the header on the subreport never
prints. The detail and summary bands on the child subreport are fine.

    Hi Greg,

The header and footer bands will not print for Child Subreports. You
can use the Title band or a group header band as a replacement.
