Display Subreport Totals in Main Report Wiki question

edited February 2010 in Subreports
I followed the instructions on the wiki to get the totals of two subreports
added together in the group footer of my main report. I don't really want
the summary bands of the subreports to show in the main report, however,
when I uncheck the visable property for them, the calculation on the main
report goes to zero. I've tried setting the variable in each subreport that
holds the subreport total to zero, but that leaves me with a blank line
where the summary band would be. Is there a way to hide the summary band but
still update the main page total?

RB 10.08

Thanks,
Steve

    Hi Steve,

Try setting the height of the summary band to 0.

It says a zero height band cannot contain components. I have the subreport
total there. That is the variable the SummaryAfterGenerate procedure uses to
    update the main report total.

Try putting the Variable in the DetailBand and setting Variable.Visible to
    False.
