  • OK, I found out myself...

Apparently I have not made any new master-detail reports after RB version
    5.5.
I did not know that the proposed method now is subreports and I have several
old working examples of master-detail rep…

  • Nico,

many thanks for yor help. I uninstalled ReportBuilder several times, but the

  • Nico,

I do use the latest HP LaserJet 5 printer driver, Delphi 6.02 and Win2k Sp3.
As I wrote I added the report component on a form and not on a datamodule.
But my problem still exist. Is there another way out?

  • Below you find a small unit which does what you want. Us it in your
application and at report-design you will find a new subreport-componet.
Instead of designing the subreport itself, enter the name of an existing
    report in the label-…
  • I have been unable to find the example you are referring to but I thought
Jim Bennett said this particular solution utilizes template files. Do yo

You could do some research at news.google.com about windows garbage

  • Just detecting the memory loss through watching windows task manager. I was

  • How are you detecting the memory loss? Are you sure it's not Windows
garbage collector (do a google search for information on it)? I regulararly
check for memory leaks and it has been since ~5.x (I can't remember the
    exact version) t…

  • Jim,

Thanks for the example. I needed it to work in RAP, but I found an example
named RAPDrawCommandFunctions, and I was able to do the same with
    TppDrawText.

I can't figure why the width is calculating just a bit sho…
  • I has to be printed on the same line as the detail.

  • Why don?t you just use the group footer section?

  • Thanks.

I am already having them check their drivers. I also know that we are behind
on updates, but I have no control over that. I was hoping that a specific
"known problem" would be inducement enough to the powers that be to g…
  • Hello Nico,

Just for the fun of it I tried your code. It works for printing to the
printer only. It does not work when you print to the screen. It draws the
print preview form and then it immediatly closes the print preview …
  • Thanks,

That works for a report going to the printer, but what about a print preview
    form?
    Will the following code work?

    Release;
    ReportForm:=nil;

  • The A/V are comming in:

    TppCommunicator.Notify and
    TppCustomReport.Notify

    Paul
  • Why would the following cause an A/V in rbRCL76.BPL?

  • Thanks. Can you give me an example as to how this is done?
  • I tried this and was not successful.

  • Thank you.

    Ivan

  • didn't help

  • Okay, something new

It errors and adds a component on the form type TppParamlist or something
    without a glyph.

    Paul
  • Well I downloaded the latest version of your site.

How can I check the version ?

RB 7.02 at any case ( don't know what build )

but with an empty project, an empty tppreport I drop a tpplabel component on
    it. sav…
  • Thanks for your response. However, there are no sub-reports in this report.
There is only one query and datapipeline. I originally thought it was an ADO
issue until I timed the time it takes to perform the following code:

  • > I am creating specs for a new project. I need to know if it is possible

Yes, that's what TExtraDevices is for... but before writing the specs,
spend some time with it to be sure it does what you need.

  • That makes sense. Thanks for the help. Now that we are using your tools
correctly, I must say that I am really impressed with your reporting engine.
    It's very nice.

  • Donovan,

Try using 'self' as the owner when you create your connection at runtime.

    -Jack
  • Correct, the ADOConnection object has a login prompt property. The problem
was that I couldn't get the report stuff to see my Connection object.
Apparantly, the connection object must be a component on the form.

    Once I put the …
  • Donovan,

Sorry, but my ADO experience is somewhat low, there should be a way to assign the connection component to prevent the login prompt.

  • Thanks Chris,

I was able to get most of it working. The only thing that doesn't appear to be working is assigning the DatabaseName property for the fDataDictionary.DataSettings and the ReportDesigner.DataSettings. The only thing that I …
