I not sure how to adjust MaxBlobSize property of my dataset, can you tell me
more detail about how to find out this property?
I try to change the database type to binary, report pop out the message

  • Sorry. The report was working right. It was another issue that was causing
the problem. Thanks for you quick response.

  • Hi Nico,

Thanks for your quick response! I'm certain that i'll find uses for the
    various canvases.
However I've managed to get the TppLabel to "AdjustBounds" at runtime by
    setting
    the TppReport.Printing property to fa…
  • Nico,
sending the escape codes itself is a piece of cake
what i want to know is that if it is possible to get to the printer directly
to use this Escape() win api
so i can push out the esc codes and then let RB do its job...
  • Christine,
if this is an end user report then it is the problem of the end user
so the end-user (or you) will have to do the shifting in rap code
    it's the only way
or you'll have to look for a specific naming of the component pla…

  • Christine,
create a column report (to mimic you labels) and then use skipwhenempty

if you meant something like this:

    label1
    label2
<- label 3 is empty so it prints an empty line

  • Aha! The Weight property is the way to do it.

  • Thanks. I think I figured it out. In my app I set
    Designer.DataSettings.SessionType and
Designer.DataSettings.DatabaseName and then everything is fine.

I will send you the plugin anyway just so you can look it over. The…
  • Once you are evaluating, try to put a parameter in a SQL Statement, and
make RB understand that you want from this,
autosearch criterias to be created when the report loads.

If someone had said this before......
  • OK Nico and Marc thanks.

My question still remains. If I need to move objects on the report to
account for changes in the non-printable areas in different printers, how
can I do this before the report.print is called when I don'…
  • most likely in the before print
or before you even issue report.print...

  • Hi Nico,

So if I am moving Objects around the report (lines, labels, etc.), I
shouldn't do it in the OnPrint event? If not, when? report.BeforePrint?

    Shane

  • No its not a matter of margins. It's allover the report. When i compare both
printouts, it seems a character spacing problem. The deskjet uses a wider
character spacing wich results in cutting of the remaining text on the right
    side. …
  • Nard hi!
    no not possible,
    i'm passing a complex object-list-hiarchy
    to the created datamodule
what i could try to do though is to create those memdata in another
datamodule and somehow pass that reference into the creation o…
  • Nico,

well thats the problem, i now first fill the memdatasets before i start the
    printing job
so what you are saying is that i should fill the datasets in the onopen
event but at that point i have to get to objects who res…
  • Nico,
before digging into the examples i've read the help file
    correct me if i'm wrong:
when RB is going into another thread it makes a new instance of the
datamodule to launch itself and do the printing?
    in that case it wil…
  • Ah! The "why" is what was missing - yes, to put a whole page-full of title
on its own page. Now it makes sense. It might be worth adding that to the
    help.

I take it there is no PDF version of the component reference? I'm sure …
  • Thanks for that. I'm half making progress with these things.

In the report designer, create a new report with a title. Right click on
it and the menu shows "NewPage" (all one word). Put some text in the title
    area, in th…
  • Can anyone tell me what this means please? From the TppSubReport main

"Tip: In order to keep section type SubReports from taking up any space in
the parent report, place the SubReport in a band by itself and set the
  • Aaaargh! There is so much power, but so little control!

It appears that the order is set not by the visual order, but by the "
front to back" order. Okay, so I can click in order and sort it out. Not
    ideal, but workable I supp…
  • You may be wanting to point me at the TppSubReport.PrintBehavior property
but this seems to get things all wrong. I have 5 subreports on the main
report, with nothing else but a header and footer. But the top-most
    subreport prints …
  • Santy,

    i didn't see your post
i've programmed against all kind of POS printers for the last 15 years now

  • Hi Michael,

Thank you for your tip. I will certainly implement it but before, I would
