Setting up webtier in Window Server 2003

edited October 2003 in Server
Argh- I hate setting up the webtier. Never works the first time.

I've got a new dev box under windows server 2003 - are there any other
considerations when setting up the webtier?

We are not aware of any issues.

(We do not have Windows Server 2003, so I have not tested it.)

Ok - I'm at my end on this. I don't have time to be the 2003 beta test
    site.
For future reference, 2003's web security is WAY beyond 2000 and your
standard setup isn't going to work. I"ve monkeyed with it's built in
security on ISAPI filters to no avail. I'm pretty certain at this point
that the web server isn't acutally running the DLL due to security
    contraints.

I'm sorry Nard - I'm trying to be reasonable, but I can't get a simple
demo. Latest OS's are untested. DM obviously hasn't tested the archive
system in a real world environment (SQL Server, 500,000+ records in archive
database, etc) If you had, you'd know the demos will not work. The speed
is a HUGE problem - it pretty much times out long before the report ever
makes it. Access is fine for quick demos - but your demos should be geared
towards queries -not opening the entire database. For that matter, a
TTable shouldn't BE in a demo. A production system of any size is going
to be in SQL Server or Oracle - not access or paradox. Your demos are
mostly invalid as they expect the entire database to be available and that's
NOT how you work with a SQL based server - that would be incredibly poor
programming. You retrieve ONLY what you need - hence my issue with the way
the archive system works. You should really consider re-working your
examples to use at least a TQuery.

I appreciate your time up to til now and I realize I'm probably being a bit
unreasonable. I have a client breathing down my neck wanting answers I
can't give. At this point, I'll find some other way to get my reports on
the web. I can't spend anymore time fighting this.

FYI: Once I got it working the first time, I've found that deploying
webtier as an Apache module is pretty straightforward.
