Anyone else having serious trouble to connect to Delphi Newsgroups via Embarcadero newsgroups?

edited September 2015 in General
For several weeks I have been unable to connect to
embarcadero.public.delphi.whatever
because of an error
Socket Error #10060 Connection Timed Out.
The last message on
embarcadero.public.delphi.non-technical was 16.08.2015 04:06:00

Anyone knowing what is going on? Earlier I have got the Reset by Peer
error
in the weekends, but now it seems like I'm permanently locked out?

Any advice appreciated.
By the way, I'm using the Xana News newsreader.

Thanks in advance.

    Hi Kai,

Embarcadero recently upgraded their news server as they have been having
issues with the older one for quite some time. If I understand
correctly, the new server requires a SSL connection.

I would recommend removing and re-adding the news server to XanaNews
with SSL enabled. Be sure you are using the latest version of XanaNews
    and the latest SSL .dll's.

This is an older article but still applies:

We typically use Thunderbird and Windows Live Mail to access newsgroups
and are currently able to access the new Embarcadero server without
issue. (although the latest version of Thunderbird requires a special
    security setting to connect).

    Hello again.

    Thank you for answering me.
I have XanaNews 1.20.0cfde51 and have now enabled SSL and Autentication
and removed and re-adding the News Server.
The error has then changed from
Socket Error # 10060 Connection timed out
    to
    Autentication rejected.

Maybe I have changed the password somethime and forgotten updating my
    notes about this.
Is there a 'Forgotten Password' function somewhere?

I believe that Embarcadero has my original password, that is compared
with the password I set twice in the Account Server Properties?
So that if this comparison fails I will get rejected?

Or do I confuse something here?

    :)

I found it, I had to use the Keys over the alphabet keys for the
    numbers.
    Case closed.
