Query Wizard

Hello !

I am using ReportBuilder Professional Version 7.04 and Delphi 7 Pro, should
I be able to use the Query Wizard and if not what is the cost for an up
grade to where I can use it .

Hi Richard,

The query wizard is for use with DADE.
(http://www.digital-metaphors.com/products/visual_data_access/) DADE
can be accessed by clicking the "Data" tab at the top of the report
designer. This is included with the Professional version of ReportBuilder.

Example of accessing the Query Wizard...

1. Drop a report on a form.
2. Double click the report to open the designer.
3. At the top of the designer you will notice three tabs (Data, Design,
Preview), click the Data tab.
4. Select File | Data Settings from the main menu and set the Session Type
to BDESession, Database Name to DBDEMOS, and Database Type to Paradox in the
data settings dialog and press OK.
5. Select File | New from the main menu and select the Query Wizard from
the dialog box.

The query wizard will now allow you to create queries based on the DBDEMOS
database that will remain local to the report template. You can use these
queries in your report like pipelines. There is no need for any other
components on the form.

Please consider working through some of the tutorials given in the
ReportBuilder Developer's guide. These give you an excellent starting point
for using DADE in your applications.
