Save to Excel

Hi,
When saving to an excel data file, we get some issues.
When we open it in Google Drive's edit mode, we see that the bars used to divide row items are overlaid on top of the row's data.
They can be moved out of the way in edit mode.
However, when saved to an excel data file and opened with an excel client on a desktop, the file's layers are flattened and overlay the data.
Is this a known issue?

We got a workaround going by making the layer brush background clear and saving to a Excel (XLSX) Report File instead of an Excel Data file.

Any insight?

thanks.

  • Hi @sluser1

Unsure if this helps, since it's been a couple of years.

In the older versions of ReportBuilder I was controlling this by turning off the following settings:
    Output - File > XLSSettings > ExportComponents
    ecImage, ecShape.

    It's ecShape that's turning up.

On the other hand, I've noticed that in the most recent ReportBuilder releases this is no longer an issue and the lines now merge down nicely. (Though I've got another problem now with the XLSX Report type that the font color isn't being overridden when the background box is being removed, which is leaving me with white text.
