Is outputting to .XLSX in the future plans for RB?

    Thanks for the feedback.

Adding XLSX output is on the ToDo list. However, it will likely not be
included in RB 15 - we always have many more requested features than we can
get to for any one release, but we keep working at it.

For the immediate future, you might evaluate Gnsotice EDocEngine for your
needs. EDocEngine includes ReportBuilder integration and XLSX is on the list
    of supported output formats.

Out of interest, exactly what benefits (apart from advanced
technicalities like being able to inspect the XML contents of a .XLSX
file in Notepad) do you expect to get from being able to export in .XLSX
    format?

A client is asking, they use OnBase Document Management with M$/Office
integration and then there is the M$/Office 2010 compatibility prompt
every time they open a file. They can't seem to click the "Don't check
    compatibility" option.

I will just tell them to deal with it, or out put to text/csv and deal
    with that :-o

Tom, I recommend updating to RB 14.08, the Excel security warning has been
resolved. Excel can now open ReportBuilder XLS files with no warning.

Paul, we have had a couple of customers asking for XLSX because it is not
    limited to 65,000 rows.

Ah, yes I forgot that. Thanks.

Sometimes we developers often fall into the same trap as our customers
by fielding support questions in terms of the solutions we think we need
rather than in terms of the problems we actually have and what we
ultimately need to achieve. If I hadn't asked Tom to qualify his request
then both of us probably wouldn't have got your useful reply. No slur on
Tom....I also do it regularly :)

I have upgraded to 14.08 in XE3 but have not give the clients the new
code yet, waiting on finally testing before the a new version goes out.
I was just checking to see if there was some option/plan to take care
of the XLSX format request. I will just tell them it's coming.

    Thanks
    Tom
