Export to Excel 2010 with over 75000 rows

edited December 2010 in Devices
?Is there a fix to allow for exporting to xlsx or xls without the
problem of row count limitations in 2003 and below? I have tried the
native excel data and excel report exports and they do not work. I
cannot open the file once it is created as it says it is corrupted.

Please help!

The ReportBuilder 12 XLS Report and XLS Data output conforms to the XLS
(97-2003) file format, also known as BIFF 8. The maximum number of rows is
    65,536.

I would suggest exporting it to a generic .csv format for this number
of records. I know XL 2007 can open these when they contain in excess
of 100K records. Tip: If opening such a large .csv file in Notepad,
make sure it's not set to 'wrap text' as it will take forever.

?I may try this if I cannot find a component that will allow the
exporting to the new larger row format.

The XLS format has a maximum of 65,536 rows. I don't know why MS decided not
to take this format forward. To date, the XLS format retains the same max
    row limitation.

The latest versions of Office and Excel introduced the Office Open XML
format, which for Excel includes XLSX, XLSM, XLTX, XLTM, XLAM, and XLSB.
The Office Open XML format is an XML based format and has no relation to the
    XLS format.

Here are a couple of links with more details...

For the future, perhaps ReportBuilder will add an XLSXReportDevice, thanks
    for the feedback.
