Print to File TXT

edited March 2008 in Devices
Hi,

I have a report that when export to a "Text file", ReportBuilder
generates a text file empty.

When I export to a "Text File Emulating Report", ReportBuilder generate
a text file but some lines was missing.

If I export in PDF, the report is generate normally.

What is happening ?

Thank you,

Samuel

    Hi Samuel,

If you are exporting to a delimited text file (Text File Device), I
recommend using the Print To File Setup option from the file menu of the
ReportBuilder designer. This allows you to select which text objects you
would like to export to a text file.

Otherwise, you need to be sure you properly set the Save property of the
band and text object for it to be exported. See the help for the
    TppTextFileDevice for more information.

    Hi Nico,

    Thank you.

I did this and now worked.

But every 4 lines he "jumps" a blank line. How to solve this?

    Here's an example:
    :
    :
    Número PedReferência Pe...
    1 20080124151300 30/01/2008E
    2 20090124174000 29/01/2008E

    3 1 28/01/2008E
    4 15 27/01/2008E
    5 153 25/01/2008E
    6 1234 24/01/2008E

    7 12345 23/01/2008E
    8 123456 22/01/2008E
    9 1234567 18/01/2008E
    10 12345678 17/01/2008E
    :
    :

And you can specify any component for the ReportBuilder which exports
    the reports in Excel?

    Another "problem" (in translation).

When the file already exists, it is showing the message "... already
Exists. Do you want to replace it" only in English. I have not located
define to translate it in the archives RB*.rc.

    Thank´s again.

    Samuel

    Hi Samuel,

Are you exporting to a delimited text file or a Report Emulation Text file?
Check your report to see if there is some sort of logical separation at the
point that separates in the text files (page break, group break, etc.).

I would recommend taking a look at Gnostice or Waler export tools to export
    to Excel.

    http://www.waler.com

This is an issue we will fix for the next release
