Waler PDF Export of RB Barcodes

edited April 2007 in Devices
It seems that printing a report to PDF using the Waler components
does not work correctly when barcodes are included. The barcodes are
not rendered correctly and the barcode scanner is unable to read it
when the exported PDF file is printed. Taking a closer look at the
barcode it seems that the barcode does look not the same as what is in
the orgional document, and it missing some of the required symbol
lines. The lines are missing when viewing report in a PDF viewer and
after they are printed.

Using Report Builder 10.5, Delphi 2006 SP2, Waler tExtraDevices 3.0,
Adobe PDF Viewer V8, Windows Vista and XP.

Any help would be greatly appricated.

Thanks,

Michael

    Hi Michael,

Although Waler frequently checks these newsgroups, you might try contacting
their support directly for a quicker response.

I am unsure about the details of Extradevices, however I can tell you that
the built in PDF device inlcuded with ReportBuilder converts advanced
drawcommands to bitmaps before exporting them to PDF. This causes
components such as barcodes and richtexts to loose some of their quality and
may cause scanning issues. It is something we plan to enhance for a later
    version of ReportBuilder.
