Possible bug while creating a new report

edited March 2003 in End User
Dear Mr, Mrs,

When I create a brand new report in reportbuilder 7 enterprise trial and I
look in the example page I see the following error:

Project MsgSrvReportgenerator.exe raised exception class EAccessViolation
with message 'Access violation at address 0040387D in
module 'MsgSrvReportGenerator.exe'. Read of address 4261642C. Process
stopped. Use stop or Run to continu.

And I will see a blank page (even when I make a label with some dummy text).
The yellow line saying demo version is also gone.

The error will show in both Delphi as the executable. Is this something in
the trial version, (we will order the final version later today or tomorrow
morning) or is this a real problem?

The situation:

Working with Delphi version 5 and ReportBuilder version 7.01 Enterprise
(Trail).
Reportbuilder is being set to load and write the database to a file (blob
field).

The work-around is as follows: Open a existing report, clear all fields and
save it as a new report. Then open it, and there is no problem!

I'll wait for your reply.

Best regards,

Mischa E.J. Hoogendoorn

    I have found the solution!

The problem comes because we don't use the BDE or FlashFiler engine for the
connection with our flashfiler database. If you create datasettings, in your
datatab, then this error will occur.

Maybe this is some usefull information for your support database.

    Thanks for your support!

P.S. Thanks to your great support over the past few months we have bought a
    copy of reportbuilder 7 enterprise!

Thankyou for reporting this. At the very least, it should not AV. We will
    test this issue.
