Access Denied error when printing

edited June 2011 in General
App is D6 with RB 11.04
A customer upgraded to Windows Server 2008 R2 64bit. When they print from
my app, they get
"Windows cannot print due to a problem with the current printer setup.
Access is denied."
They can print from any other application in Windows and they have tried
logged in as the domain admin. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Perry

    Hi Perry,

Does this happen when they try to print to every printer? Are they
printing from a terminal machine connected to the server or from Windows
Server itself? Generally when customers have issue connecting to their
printer from a terminal machine, it is an access issue. Be sure that
the machine has proper access to the printer and printer drivers needed
    to print from your application.

Just to but in - does your application require short file names?

Server 2008 R2 ships with short file name support turned off by default.
Took us ages to figure out what was stopping our databases building
    properly!!

    Good luck

    Thanks for adding that info.

ReportBuilder is not using short file names, so I do not think that is the
cause. I tend to agree with Nico, I think it must be a security access
    issue.
