Summary band behavior

edited January 2011 in General
I just created a report with a subreport that has a summary band which
contains a region for a signature line and date. Prior to printing, the user
is asked whether to display that signature section.

What I've discovered is that when the report output is a single page, the
signature region displays just fine at the end of the subreport. For output
of more than one page, the signature region prints at the top of the next
page. So if the report is two pages long, the signature region prints at the
top of page 3. Any suggestions on how to overcome this behavior would be
much appreciated.

    Hi Mark,

Which version of ReportBuilder and Delphi are you using? What type of
subreport are you using (child, section, fixed)? If you remove the region
and just place a simple label inside the summary, does the same occur?

    Nico,

I have ReportBuilder 7.04 and Delphi 7. Using a label instead of a region
does not change the layout I described.

P.S. I'll be finally able to update to the current version of ReportBuilder
    this winter.

    Nico,

Also, the subreport is a child report.

    Hi Mark,

I checked the patches available for RB 7.04 and there is one related to
subreports that may help. Please send an email to
support@digital-metaphors.com to receive the patch. Also, if you would like
to send me a simple example of the issue you are experiencing, I can test it
here with the latest version of ReportBuilder before you upgrade. Send the
example in .zip format to the email address above.
